Neighbours

Neighbours was presented at Big West Festival 2015

Neighbours a performance, which takes the form of a guided walk across multiple sites along Nicholson Street Footscray, through public spaces and into the homes of residents. Weaving fact and fiction, social performance and theatrical performance, neighbours perform in the work, sharing accounts of their lives, daily rituals and personal histories against a backdrop of change: arrivals, departures, property developments, gentrification and progress.

12 audience members per performance encountered 9 residents, 5 homes, 1 boxing ring, multiple public spaces and undercover performers in their introduction to the inner-workings of an ever-adapting suburb.

“This Side of the Tracks] show both a talent for site-specific creativity, as well as a sincere affection for their subject-matter.”
Nithya Iyer, Peril, Nov 2015

“Aced the participation with art and guided tour and face to face! Every moment, every detail was beautifully pitched and placed. It was extremely well rehearsed and totally original - full of love and care… two such dedicated professionals!”
Marcia Ferguson, Artistic Director, Big West Festival
